KAYAKER IS STUNNED AFTER PADDLING THROUGH WATERS FILLED WITH SCORES OF DEAD SALMON WITH PIX AND VIDEO A kayaker filmed this apocalyptic video of the moment she paddled through waters filled with scores of dead salmon in Alaska. Dana Fialová and her friend Michal were sea kayaking in Kachemak Bay State Park, near Homer, Alaska, on July 28. The pair were entering an area called Tutka Lagoon when they noticed the waters becoming clogged with the bodies of dead fish. Naturally salmon do die off once they have swum back up rivers from the ocean to spawn, however these fish hadnâ*™t died as a result of that. At first Dana feared there could be an environmental reason for the apparent catastrophe worried warm temperatures could be killing the fish. But a local hatchery has since issued a statement clarifying the fish were there because of a harvesting accident. The shocking video has since been shared over 20,000 times on social media. Dana, who runs www.mywayalaska.com a tour agency and bed and breakfast, said: â*œWe have never seen this before, for example Michal, who took these pictures and videos, has visited Alaska for 20 years and he was shocked' He has seen it for the first time in his life and all people we asked said the same - they have never seen this before. No one could explain it with certainty at the start. 'People know, that all salmon are dying here in Alaska every summer because of their life cycle. But these salmon still had part of his life ahead of them and they weren't spawned out - what is actually their life goal. They were intact and looked fresh, it looked scary.// Credit:MyWayAlaska/Magnus News/SIPA
