Bloomberg has recently reported that Hong Kong's hotel industry is struggling with a collapse in bookings due to both the shut down of the airport recently and the long running and increasingly violent protests. InterContinental Hotels Group Plc said the protests contributed to a slowdown in business travel, and that the company's stock is down almost 10% since the end of July. Demonstrators have taken to the streets of Hong Kong in protest of a controversial extradition bill since 9th of June which has resulted in several violent clashes.
